They show that LANDER EQUIPEMENT @ the Martian soil contains the following elements: silicon, iron, calcium, magnesium, aluminum, titanium, rubidium, steradian, zirconium, and potassium. On August 3 (Sol 14), the order is given for the lander to collect further samples. While retracting, the arm blocks, and must be repaired by remote control once again. On August 5 (Sol 16), nutrient solution containing amino acids is injected in the labeled release device. No reaction will be observed. On August 7 (Sol 18), the pyrolytic release device reveals that the samples have assimilated carbon. On August 11 (Sol 22), the arm is repaired. On August 20 (Sol 31), the arm collects new fragments of Martian soil. On August 26 (Sol 35), the arm collects samples for testing in the biological detectors. MARS BETAT
